This is a renovation plan for a tower apartment building in a prime location in Tokyo. Since this was a partial renovation rather than a skeleton renovation, I was conscious of planning to bring maximum effect with minimum renovation.
The wall that separated the living room from the hallway was replaced with a sliding door. The corridor, which tends to be dark and isolated, was planned as a new space that can be used as one with the living room.
Of course, the privacy of the living room can be secured when the sliding doors are closed. However, by using translucent polycarbonate for the sliding doors, it is possible to gently connect the entire house while ensuring thermal insulation.
The kitchen was modified from the existing L-shaped kitchen to a Type II kitchen, which improved flow, safety, and openness in the kitchen.
