REFRACT HOUSE
This house is located in a residential area of Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Situated within 1 km of the coast on a well-proportioned lot where the sea breeze is pleasant, the floor plan is composed of hexagons formed by a combination of parallel grids and grids set at 45-degree angles.
The interior walls are arranged at right angles or 135-degree obtuse angles, adding variation to the simple linear movement of the floor plan. Furthermore, the triangular open spaces created between the buildings and the site boundaries made it possible to create three bright, private children’s rooms on the first floor.
The second floor is designed as an open space containing only the master bedroom and the living-dining-kitchen area, with light from the skylight pouring down to the first floor through the central voided space.

神奈川県茅ヶ崎市の住宅地に建つ住宅。海岸から１ｋｍ以内に位置し潮風が心地よい整形な敷地形状に対し、
平行なグリッドと45度の角度を持ったグリッドを用いた6角形で構成された平面計画です。室内の壁は直行もしくは135度の鈍角で配置され、単純な平面移動に変化を与えました。また、敷地境界との間に発生する三角形の空地により、明るくプライバシー性の高い子供部屋を1階に3室設けることが可能となりました。2階は主寝室とLDKのみの開放的な空間とし、建物中央の吹抜けを介して天窓からの光が1階まで降り注ぎます。
